2009 Vauxhall Meriva doesn't star when hot

Car: Vauxhall Meriva
Year: 2009
Variant: 1.3cdi
Categories: Engine & Drivetrain
After a journey of a minimum 45 minutes, we go back to the car after a short break it won't start. When I turn the key it just clicks. The battery has been replaced. I personally think that the problem is the solenoid but cannot understand why it starts ok when cold but not when hot. If we leave it for a minimum of 1 hour it will start.
Help please!

Solenoid is part of the starter motor which could be your fault .Could check wiring / connections .

Electrical resistance changes with the changes in heat.
Or it could be expansion of metal due to temperature.
Either way a simple test that any tech can do is run a wire frm bat + too the starter small wire tag.
This isolates all the other electrics and mechanicals like the ig switch,
If it still doesn't spin over then the starter has a heat related fault.
