2008 Vauxhall Meriva pretty heater

The pre heater stays on for about a second when first starting up then when stopped won't come on again even when cold.Car difficult to start hot or cold. Glow plugs have been changed. How difficult is it to fix preheat as pretty sure this is the problem.

Sounds like the glow plug heater relay is suspect.

sounds like a fuel issue i.e lack of pressure or even air entering fuel line
