2005 Vauxhall Meriva speedometer not working

I had abs light come on then my speedometer started moving erratically. would not move at all then erratic which stopped the mileage registering and the trip meter from registering. I have one before started my journey with out the speedo moving pulled over switched off engine and it started working. This has started while on a journey pulled over and switched engine off but this didn't make any difference. All the other gauges are working fuel/temp/rev counter. Is this easily fixed.

Hi had same problem this morning, pulled over and turn off car ,turn on and was working properly. Any one know how to fix this?
