Car goes into limp mode

2004 Vauxhall Meriva 1.7 cdti 54 plate
Car: Vauxhall Meriva
Year: 2004
Variant: 1.7 cdti 54 plate
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Hi everyone.
Please help.
I have a 54 plate vauxhall meriva 1.7 cdti. I have had a couple of times now the car going into limp mode by not going any faster than 5mph. I think it happens only whilst wet. I did a pedal check and the fault code came back at 1120. I thought id take it to the garage for them to find a fault code, surprisingly they couldn't find one as it's an intermittent fault. I have taken the ecu off and sprayed the connectors with some connector spray. I don't know if there is any water getting through anywhere. If I could i would probably get rid of it but I physically can't afford to. I've looked at loads of forums and they just baffle me as everyone is saying lots of different things. To make matters worse I think the clutch is going. If anyone can help I would appreciate it so much. Thankyou :-)

Usually refers to the TPS ( THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR ) May need a new accl pedal but check the plug / wiring at pedal first for damp , corrosion

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I've looked online and I can buy a complete accelerator pedal quite cheaply. I looked at it earlier but I couldn't see any obvious signs of corrosion or dampness. I think I'll change the pedal itself. I have been looking at other a forums and it says it could be a faulty ecu, the accelerator seems the obvious answer though.
