2004 Vauxhall Meriva rough, lumpy gear change from first starting

Car: Vauxhall Meriva
Year: 2004
Variant: 1.6 enjoy easytronic
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
when we first start the vehicle whatever time of day, and pull away the first gear change is really a jolted, rough change. on a run or once the engine is warmed the other gear changes are smooth.
When we bought the vehicle we were told that's how they are!!when you ask different dealers about the hydraulic oil master cylinder for the hydraulic clutch, 75% don't know what you're talking about!!
Anyone got anything similar or ideas please?

I wouldn't think it was anything to do with the clutch cylinder as I would think it would be the same warm or cold.

in addition to problem under reference(#16900), the car in motion suddenly stopped flashing "F" in the dash board and the gear would no longer select.

I've tried driving it in the manual mode and the change from 1st to 2nd gear is the same giving a jolt, this happens whether you put your foot down or pull away slowly. Why I mentioned the hydraulic oil master cylinder for the clutch is because the gear change is not so bad when the fluid level is low!!

clutch /gear actuators probably just need reinisialising
