2006 Vauxhall Meriva starting issues, doesn't metter waht temp outside

Car: Vauxhall Meriva
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.3 TDI
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Been a problem starting for a good few months but in the last 4 weeks got really bad. Runs great once started. Short journeys more recently but was doing 220 mile trips every weekend for the last 2 months. Recently had full service and replaced glow plugs(also front coil springs and new tyres, hence spent loads) still won't start.
Any ideas?
Many thanks

Need to get the car diagnosed for any faults.
Sound like one of the engine sensors playing up.
ie, TDC SENSOR. But get it checked first as guessing can work out more expensive...

I had the same problem with my Meriva, i had to keep on revving engine every morning before the car would start(so embarrassing)

anyway i found a really good garage who found the problem as my usual garage had no idea, it was a faulty solenoid valve sensor within the fuel system, that was roughly about a year ago since then i've had no starting problems at all.

Well not that problem anyway, had to call AA out yesterday as car wouldn't start but have been told its the alternator that has now gone.

I love the Meriva but they are prone to far too many faults i'm getting rid of mine hopefully within a years time.
