Passenger electric window fault

2007 Vauxhall Meriva 1.6
Car: Vauxhall Meriva
Year: 2007
Variant: 1.6
Categories: Leaks & Noises
I operated my rear passenger electric window from the controls at the driver seat.

The window went down but there was a bang and now it wont go up or down using any of the electric controls.

I guess that it has somehow gone out of alignment and is no longer sitting within its rails.

The propblem is it now slides down on its own and can only be slid back up mauanly by pulling the window up.

I would like to fix it myself - if its possible - before a garage charges a fortune for what I imagine is a routine fix.

I need to know firstly how to take off the interior door cladding to access the window and then any tips on what to do inside if its not obvious.

There are usually a a few screws that you have to look for. They could be behind the interior door catch that you open the door with and the internal door handle. Then you should be able to pull the door card off the clips that secure it to the door. Then you should see where the the slide on the bottom of the window has off the 2 rollers on the mechanism that operate the window to travel up and down. You might need to get the window at a certain height before you can slot it back onto the rollers...
