steering locks on after starting engine.Stop the car and restart seems to clear the problem but whats causing it? any suggestions welcome.

i have a vauxhall meriva 2004 ... what is happening when i come to open the drivers door with the remote all the other doors unlock but when i try to open the drives door it relocks its self and i have to use the key and even when i have unlocked the door and close the drivers door agaain it relocks the doors door again so i have to use the key again can you please help me by telling me what it can be please
