2004 Vauxhall Meriva speedometer rattle?

Constant rattle at all speeds appears to be coming from direction of instrument panel. Have taken panel out of dashboard and suspect noise coming from the speedometer but main dealers state that in their experience instrument panels almost never give problems. Anyone else had similar problems?

Had this concern years ago the solution was to apply grease to the cable and speedo.Hope this helps.

Is it not a digital speedo , with a speed sensor ?

There was problems with steering column rattles on that car , could that be the noise you hear ?
