Bad starting

has problem starting,thought it was pump no,then poss drain back of fuel no,new glow plugs,battery good,car whirrs over puffs out smoke(unburnt fuel)wont start,if we put the booster start it starts ok,could it be electrical??

Sounds like a power drain from somewhere, have you got an alarm? if so check that. If not did you get the correct battery for the car?
Have you checked the starter motor or alternator?

Check the battery voltage- it may read 12v when not doing anything but if it drops below 9v when turning the engine over, it needs replacing
