It's a question should it be doing 3500rpm at 70 in 5th gear when my other car is a 1.5 diesel and that sit at 2500 at 70 in 5th.
Has for it sounding like a 3ltr just it sound meaty

A lot of the 3 cylinder engines nowadays sound that way . Obviously a completely different gear ratio compared to your 1.5 diesel .As an example , even the Ford Fiesta 1.0 3cyl Eco boost cars benefit from a much needed 6th gear . Have to live with it or get shot of it .
