2000 Vauxhall Corsa nocking coming from catalitic converter and engine nearly dies when pulling off

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 2000
Variant: 1.0 12v gls
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
had no problems from new but lately there has been a nocking noise coming from which i think is the catalyitic converter.also since this noise started my engine nearly dies wen i go to pull off,it doesnt happen when first pulling off but into the journey.
as i go to pull of the engine revs but then nearly dies, actually it sounds like it does,it just goes silent but i keep the accelorator depressed and it comes back to life.
any advice would be well appreciated.

Sounds like catalytic converter broken up inside and causing blockage / restriction which affects running .
