1998 Vauxhall Corsa immobbiliser ?

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 1998
Variant: 1.2 4 cylinder timing chained engine
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi there, bit of a problem here. To cut a long story short, I have replaced an engine on a corsa, the old engines head had been removed and lost, the ecu with it. I got a second hand ecu and the chip for the key from the same car to hopefully match them. Guess what ! It does not start. When I turn the ignition on, the engine light flashes constantly and also the EML or ELM (or someting like that) also flashes. It will start and run for about 2 seconds and then cuts out with the engine light still flashing. Does this sound like the immobiliser ? Is there any other way I can bypass or code the new chip or ecu or any thing like that ? Heart ache of a job that the profit is long gone just :-(

sorry not aloud to give info regarding immobilizers and that sort of thing autoinsider rules sorry but all i can suggest is you try to get it to the dealers and have the ecu and other things on the car reprogrammed and you should be ok

Ok I understand but if anyone else has any more info, they could contact me directly, rather than trough AutoInsider on [email protected]. The dealer is sort of out of the question as my nearest one is 2 hours away and I simply can not afford to lose any more money on the little profit that I am only making on the job.
