2002 Vauxhall Corsa immobaliser problem

when i unlock the car the digital milage comes up on the dash,but lately it is taking me5min to get the milage up on the dash i have to keep locking and unlocking the car.I knw that the car will not start until the dash is lit( the car is a automatic )
Also i can be driving the car and every thing goes off on the dash board but the car carrys on driving
I would be grateful if some one would give me an idea on haw to solve this problem

check main battery connections are clean and secure,remove the earths and clean up and secure where they go onto chassis,are there any warning lights on,if there are then get a scan done to check for stored faults

i think these have a problem with the dash itself try giving the top of the dash a bang when its playing up ,they are real easy to get out so check the multiplug is not loose on the back try unplugging it and plugging it back in

As " wiggy4170 " suggests , there was a known problem with the multiplug at rear of dash .
