Hot blower

1997 Vauxhall Corsa 16v sport
Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 1997
Variant: 16v sport
Categories: Leaks & Noises
The hot blower takes forever to come through hot to clear my windscreen. Takes at least 15minutes of cold air before it comes out hot. Have noticed the tepmerature gauge for the radiator, whilst i'm waiting for the heater to work does'nt move above zero. Are these connected?

Have been told to replace the thermostat, will this cure both problems?

Cheers.

ok firstly is this in the morning after the car has been stood all night because if this is the situation then that is normal for a corsa

Doesnt matter if the engine is cold or hot. Still takes forever to blow out hot. Yesterday took about 30minutes of driving before it came out hot. It only use to take a few minutes from cold. Is now colder in the car than outside !!

no changing the thermostat wont make any difference to the car as they are not linked i drive a works van combo corsa type van and im driving it for at least 30 mins before any heat or the guage even starts to move this is normal for these cars

I would not consider running a car for 30 minutes before obtaining any heat normal.
Whenever i've had this problem in the past its usually the thermostat and besides they only cost a few pounds.
