2005 Vauxhall Corsa emissions light !!!!!!! help please guys

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 2005
Variant: 1.2
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hello guys, this is my first visit to this site and I am already looking for some help. Took my G,friends corsa out the oher week and broke the ex' camshaft in two. stripped the engine and repaired it myself, one cam+ 4 ex' valves. car now runs well but when it idles for 10-15 secs' the emissions light comes on and the power is reduced, more like a misfire, switch off and re-start and all is well, have disconnected battery and fault disappears until having to come to idle again. Also, when the cam broke the light came on at the same time, It turns out that the bearing carriers, no7&9, had come slack causing the cam to 'bounce' hopefully fixed this by using threadlok on bolts, thanks in advance guys for any help that keeps me from visiting the main agents

Forgot to mention re. engine miss , coil pack ?

I had the same problem with the emmision light, took it to main agent who fitted a coil pack but the problem persisted, took it to a local auto electrician who diagnosed sticky valves and suggested a good additive to the petrol, that was 6 months ago and no problems since, touch wood.

Hi guys thanks for the responces, did a google on the cam prob b4 hand and was aware of it, don't suspect either suggestion though as car runs fine until warning light flashes, as an asides , does anyone know the function of the phase plate on the in' camshaft cause I am seriously thinking that I need to re-check the timing of it......Glyn
