2000 Vauxhall Corsa engine cuts after 7 mins will not start for about 10 mins is this a sensor problem?

is it petrol or diesel?and when it does`nt start does the engine crank over

As "2145simon " states , really need more info on car . Common cause can be cranksahft / camshaft sensor .Can also get problems with wiring on both sensors .

The car is Petrol.
The engine cranks over after it has stopped but will not start for between 5 and 10 minutes. All the lights etc work when the enginer shuts off Have run it today for 35 minuites and then shut off and would not start for 10 minuites and then shut of after about 15 minutes this has happened all day I have keep it on my driveway.

Today ir ran for 35 Minutes then cut out and would not start for about 10 minutes. Thia is been going on all day. I start the car and it runs for about 7 to 10 minutes and then stops. I then waite for about 5 to 10 minutes and it will start but then stops after 10 minutes or less. all the lights etc work when the engine stops.

this problem is defo the crankshaft sensor, its a very common problem on the corsa's. mine did the very same. good news though, it is a very easy fix and you dont even need to go to main dealer to get it fixed as they WILL charge ££££££££. i got my replacement off ebay for about 20quid with a year quarantee trust me this is far better than £120+ right?? the sensor is on the bottom of the sump under the car, it can be a bit fiddly but aslong as you can get good access you shouldn't have a prob.
