2001 Vauxhall Corsa crazy engine revs - no acceleration

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 2001
Variant: 1.2 Easytronic
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
After doing 10-20mph in traffic for a while car revs up like a rocket taking off when I try to accelerate but speed doesn't increase at all, car stalls for a minute instead.
Just had car serviced around 2 weeks ago, no problems found & had 4 new tyres put on since.

the only thing i can say to this one is have the clutch checked out as may be slipping hence the car revving and not going anywhere

Could be faulty idle stepper motor, if it is faulty the clutch control module will not want to engage the clutch if the engine speed is to high, call in to a dealer to have a diagnostic done on engine, gearbox and clutch control units.
