1993 Vauxhall Corsa won't start

i have checked for a spark which is fine,i have now replaced the fuel filter and it doesn't seem as if any fuel is getting to it,the pump burrs when you turn the key and it will start and die when you put fuel in through the carb anyone have any ideas what the problem may be?

From what you say , pump sounds knacked or drawing air .

ca any one help me my corsa 1 liter 1999 T reg have problem its starts and run fine some time do missing and after 10/15 mins stops and do not start angain for while may be 20 /30 mins.
