2004 Vauxhall Corsa emission light

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 2004
Variant: 1.4 automatic
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Emission light kept coming on and then the car would lose power. Took it to the vauxhall dealership, they fitted a new coil pack and plugs, all was fine for one day then same thing, they then did an oil change as they said this model needed a thinner oil than the one recommended in the handbook, changed oil filter and found a small hole in petrol filter so changed that. Hopefully it's fixed, but only had it done today. They also warned me that it could be that it could be sticking valves, which is common in low mileage cars, any more ideas please.

if it is sticky valves id try a fuel treetment forte is a good one just add to fuel tank and give it a good long motaway thrash high revs poss 4th not 5th,see if any diff noticed

i'd be inclined to look for air leaks or exhaust. sticky valves these days are uncommon now lead-free fuel is in full use..would advise running a journal on the engine management lamp. when it comes on, what conditions engine revs and so on. also have it code read by independant garage not dealer..
