2000 Vauxhall Corsa will not start

got the car 1yr ago and drive it every other day,not a problem/always started.was mot'd november 2009,failed the emissions test 5 times.then after being reved for 20mins,the mechanic got it through.ever since then,ive had problems starting it.i did take it back,and the mechanic said it was a loose ht lead.now the problem has come back and just put a new battery on and still no joy,HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best to get car into garage for a diagnostic scan and see what shows , otherwise you could go on replacing parts not required .

i would say the fact it was so hard to pass the emmisions might be a clue,may be a coolant temp sender faulty overfuelling car,i would get a garage to check emmisions and see what the lambda readings are also
