1996 Vauxhall Corsa immobilliser

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 1996
Variant: 1,2 single point fuel injection
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
hi
i have a prob in that my p reg corsa wont start ..when i turn the key the engine turns over but the engine management flashes continually ...i am told this is the imobaliser..if i spray starting fluid in the carb the engine runs for a few seconds. i only have 1 key and as far as i am aware it has not come apart. there was a transducer around the ignition switch but it is not connected and there is no wiring for it...i do no the locks were changed before i owned the car so maybe the transducer was just left on ..going round scrap yards some corsas have transducers and wiring some dont can anyone point me in the right direction ??? maybe this flashing light is not immobilliser at all. i also understand early corsas didnt have immobillisers

thanks alan

with you saying that the car starts when you spray easy start down the inlet it can only mean that the car engine isnt getting fuel and the flashing light could mean that there is another fault on the car can only suggest the auto electrical specialist to come out and resolve the prodlem unless you can get the car to a garage

well i have checked the fuel pump by removing the fuse and sending 12v straight to it and it works fine so it has to be that them engine management isnt turnin the fuel pump on or the fuel injection
