1999 Vauxhall Corsa flat spots!

as i am going through the gears i seem to hit flat spots and it feels as if im gonna run out of petrol sort of jerks. i read that it could be te "knock sensor" but havnt yet checked? but before checkin i would like to know if there could be any other cause for this?

More than likely you have a faulty mass air flow sensor, this attached to the air filter on these models, disconnect the plug from it and drive it, if the power comes back then it is faulty, try this and post back.
