Clar will not start .

Will start with jum leads seems ok and then after taking it for a run dead again. Is it a battery or alternator problem?

Could be either or both . Run car into any fast fit centre and ask them to test battery and alternator output , usually foc. Most accessory shops or Halfords will also check .
