Well first i would get a more helpfull mechanic, who can read the fault codes and understand via the live data whats going on under the bonnet.
If you have limited knowledge i would start by checking the wiring connections on the offending items.

Check fuel filter.. I had same problem.. tried all sorts and a simple fuel filter change sorted me out... It is worth a try and doesn`t cost the earth...
