2001 Vauxhall Corsa management light on and juddering whilst driving

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 2001
Variant: Club
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The cars engine management light comes on sometimes and sometimes when I drive the engine shudders and is throbbing. I have had the computer read and apparently the engine management light is not a true fault, but it has since developed this shuddering throbbing symptom and especially in a low gear it kind of kangaroo hops. It doesn't happen all the time though and not necessarily when the fault light is on either. Please help, I am getting desperate.

the light should tell you the problem as it stores a code when lit.if not the coil packs are a common fault it will missfire but if left to cool down the fault should clear.as they can be expensive id try to borrow from simular car od scrap yard to prove b4 you buy

Thanks for the help.
When they read the computer last time it was a false fault and they cleared it, so my concern is that it's not miss firing as such maybe it's false again? How serious a problem is it? Do you have any ideas what else it could be?
