does the engine warning light flash when the ignition is on if so may be a key problem

the engine light doesnt come on until the car has stalled. before the cars stalls, the whole thing judders then cuts out. i had the keys and steering rack replaced last year as the old key broke in the ignition. do you think this could be the problem then?

no a flashing would indicate an immobilser fault thats why i asked your fault may be a crank sensor fault if the car runs for a while then cuts out
