2008 Vauxhall Corsa no reverse gear - flashing r and p

When I select P or R or 2 or 3 all the options flash (P R D N 3 2 1) but works fine on D N 1. I have to start the car on neutral as it dies recognises P and car always has car with spanner icon on dashboard when switched on

Will need scanned with suitable equipment for codes and to see what has tripped light .

It has been scanned but it still doesn't recognise an issue

Your scanner may not be capable of reading transmission fault codes . Not all OBD2 scanners can read transmission fault codes.
