2005 Vauxhall Corsa acceleration dies

My Corsa ticks over fine but whilst driving and accelerating the engine just does nothing and slows down. Sometimes if I take my foot off the throttle and then put my foot back on the throttle it sorts the issue but sometimes I have to turn the engine off and restart it and go again any advice is much appreciated thanks

Hi is the engine management light on? If so you will need to get it scanned.
