Flashing N car wont turn over

Hello its a corsa 2003 triptonic with flashing N when in neutral .wont turn over as if its in D or R ? Tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes but didn't work ' any idea's please thanks

Start with checking the transmission oil. But you will need to get the car scanned for faults.

Hi and thanks.all lights and brake light working fine .the gearbox is clicking .but when in start slot it flashes N had the car picked up by the AA but before he took it home for me scanded the car for fault's nothing came up all clear .said he didn't know the fault but could be gearbox saitch as there was a clicking on the box when turning the key ?

Transmission fluid fine .its like trying to start the car in drive ' wont car wont move in neutral if you try and push it seems to be in park but flashing N

You did check all THREE brake lights?

Including the high level centre one?

Tried jump start .tried a new battery.tried all lights.two keys ' no good stuck with flashing N

Gears are actually changed on these by a servo mech,
You can spot it on top of the Gbox and has a wiring harness running into it.
Worth while checking for water ingress.
But it does sound like it's locked up.
Scanning with Vaux tech scanner will read the box for codes.
It just like scanning the engine ECU but reading the gearbox ECU and servo.
It does kind of read like your guy just scanned the engine ECU.
