Engine wont turnover

Morning problem with car is I drove.it all week no problem, I pulled in to garage turned engine off but left the lights on, went to start the car the letter N showing foot pressed down on brake pedal all I got was a clicking noise nothing else tried putting into R then into A then back into N still nothing rocked the car backwards and forwards after moving it a few yards rocked it again and it started, once.I got the car home I switched the engine off tried starting it again but nothing but clicking noise please help thanks russ

Ive tried bumping it and jump leads still nothing its finding the.gears ok just clicking and not turnin over

So my next suspect would be a faulty starter motor,
That's assuming the "click" your hearing is the starter solenoid.
Though on that vehicle the solenoid is controlled by a relay in the box under the bonnet.
If your competent then a good test for the starter is run a jump wire from the battery pos+ and touch it to the smaller terminal on the starter motor.
If all is good the jump wire will trigger the solenoid and spin the starter over.
If not then the starter is needing tested.
