2006 Vauxhall Corsa no acceleration when pulling away

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.0 Life Triptronic
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
On long straight journey's my Corsa is a brilliant little car, however it really does not like pulling away at traffic lights, I keep my foot on the accelerator and the only was I can get it to go is flicking it into manual, it goes straight into 2nd gear. I keep my foot on the accelerator until it gets up speed and then I go back into Auto. This is really nerve wracking especially with heavy traffic behind me

It will be sluggish if you're pulling away in second .You need to get the car scanned to see if it's a fault with the engine or gearbox .
