Get your battery and alternator load tested , any major store like Halfords or fast fit centre will do usually F.O.C .

Hi thanks for the quick reply I have had 3 mechanics look at the car and they say the var is in good working order but one said it may need a system update which it makes no sense to me lol I have had to book the car into Arnold Clark next week but am not sure what they will come back with. The battery has been checked and I was told Iits working fine thanks

You don't say what engine , it could be the coil pack which is quite common .Unlikely to be system updates on a car of that year , they would have usually been carried out years ago .Best of luck at A Clarks !!
