ON STARTING THE CAR IT SOMETIMES REVS EVEN WHEN FOOT NOT ON ACCERLARATOR WILL NOT JUST IDLE, THEN IT CUTS OUT !! AND WILL NOT RESTART. IF I LEAVE IT FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS IT SEEMS TO BE OK BUT STILL ROUGH. IT,S HAD A FULL SERVICE, NEW BATTERY, NEW CRANK SENSOR FITTED, NEW SET OF PLUGS . BASICALLY EVERYTHING THE AA OR MY LOCAL GARAGE HAS SUGGEST ED. THE THING IS IT IS AN INTERMITTANT PROBLEM AND WHEN IT DOES RUN OK IT,S GREAT RUNNER. I JUST NEVER KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO PLAY UP !! I DON,T KNOW WHAT TO DO. CAN ANYONE HELP

Hi you might have damp in a switch try spraying some WD 40 on all the switch .under the throttle pedal I had a similar problem with a pergoet. But if the engine light is on get it scanned.

Sounds like a fault with the throttle body,
Many Vauxhalls need a throttle body reset when the battery is changed.
Not sure if your engine size is covered but when Vaux software is run the option will be there if it is one of the engines covered.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR REPLY BUT WHERE DO I GET VAUXHALL SOFTWARE RUN TO FIND OUT IF THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE RE-SET ? MY LOCAL GARAGE AND THE AA HAVE BOTH HAD THE CAR ON DIAGNOSTICS BUT NO PROBLEM CAME UP

Vaux dealer or if you have a laptop Ebay sells Vaux software and interface called Opcom for around £20.
