The spanner icon is telling you it's time for an oil/filter change,
and once that's the service lamp timer is re set.
No special tools required to re-set the icon light,
Google corsa service light re-set and do it yourself.
As to the rest?
your there,
I'm not,
you say this,
they say that.
What I will state is anybody calling themselves a mechanic should know what a service indicator lamp is.
If what you state is true find another mechanic.
One that can tell his arse from his elbow.
