2008 Vauxhall Corsa won't start properly

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 2008
Variant: Club 1.3 cdti
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi
I have a problem with starting my corsa, it has 61000 miles has been serviced regularly but recently whenever I try to start it the car doesn't start right away and when it does the engine doesn't respond tto the accelerator when I try to rev it. It just remains idle. I have taken it to the mechanic who attempted to diagnose the problem but it didn't show up with any fault codes.
Please help as I have a lil one on the way and can't really afford trial and error fixes!
Thank you very much

Could try changing fuel filter if not been done for a while .
