1994 Vauxhall Corsa scratch on bodywork

I have some scratches on paintwork I have done some work on it but the paint is still dull how do I get a good shine on it The body work is in very good condition The scratch is about three inches long and about quarter inch wide I hope some one can help. Thanks

T cut or rubbing compound,then some good quality wax polish,unless it,s too deep and requires painting.
