Water leaks into drivers footwell

2005 Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 Auto
Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 2005
Variant: 1.4 Auto

Can someone help me with this problem.
Rain water is getting into my car when it rains, it starts off by wetting the drivers footwell and then slowly with time starts to soak the passengers carpet behind the driver.
This only happens when it rains and the car doesn't have to be moving for the water to enter the car, we had a long dry spell with the weather and the carpets in the car were dry. My car has been sitting on the drive with dry carpets one day and then it rains for a few days and the carpets are wet, this makes the windows on the inside wet and condensation in the car builds up.
Any ideas guys! Please help.

Thanks for your link, I followed it and it sounds just like what is happening to my car.
I'm not skilled enough to be able to repair the problem myself, do you think this will take a local garage or Vauxhall themselves to repair and could it be a costly repair?
Thanks again!!

Meant to say....will it take a local garage or Vauxhall long to repair? And will it be a costly repair?

The year of your Car is not clear but it is a common problem in Corsa / Combo units prior to the current model. There are channels in the floor underneath the Carpet and if there is enough water after getting in you will actually hear it sloshing back and forth. As per above the Bulkhead is usually the issue around where the foot pedals & other items pass through. Also check that the drain holes from the panel outside the Windscreen and across the Bulkhead are not blocked with dirt / leaves.

Better to try local , independant garage first and ask for quote . Then try dealership for quote , but usually more expensive.

Thanks guys for your advice with my problem.
I popped into my local Vauxhall dealership this morning and explained my car's problem to them, they also mentioned the seal around the brake servo and also said they have had a couple of customers recently with the same problem.
I asked for a quote and they quoted 4 hours labour + parts =£474.00, my heart skipped a beat and I told them I'll get a few more quotes first. I'll try a few local smaller garages now and see what they quote. At least now I'm a step closer to solving the water leak.

Unfortunately that's dealership prices .As suggested try local independant garage and you will probably get it done at a fraction of that cost .Thanks for update .
