2006 Vauxhall Corsa excessive fuel consumption

My Corsa has suddenly started using an excessive amount of fuel. I put twenty pounds of fuel in the other day and only got about ninety miles out of it. Can not see any leaks any where and driving sensibly so no obvious reason for this. Can the fuel cap have anything to do with it ?, although it doesn`t seem faulty I have heard that it can effect the consumption. Car is running fine otherwise. Bit of a head scratcher for me this

I had a 2009 sxi corsa it was horrendous on fuel only did 32 to gallon and it was a 1200 dreadful on fuel maybe you need a service
