Replies and fixes
yes the problem is the stepper motor/idle control valve that is the problem with the revs dropping and picking up all the time this is common on all the corsas so you are not alone get the car booked in at hte dealers or a good garage in your area and the problem resolved and it will be happy motoring again
is this why the car jurks and engine light comes on to i had a look at it and i notice it sticks sometimes so thanks for this
yes that right it gets carboned up and starts to stick hence the revs sticking
Hi just sold my corsa the same thing happened to me, i replaced the idle control valve costs about £40 also replaced the air flow meter. wouldnt bother putting it into a garage as it will cost to much you should do it yourself or get someone to do it for you! I was told i needed EGR valve which i didnt, saved me a lot of money. your corsa should run right after that
also people will tell you to clean the valve with carb cleaner, but trust me it makes matters worse. hope ive helped lol
you should also get the parts on ebay
i wouldnt buy this from ebay as in most cases you wont have any manufactures warranty and they are not exspensive from the dealers / motor factors
I have a similar problem with my Vauxhall Tigra...i was also told it is the EGR valve, took it to a garage and they cleaned it...and the problem is still there...i would recommend getting them replaced instead of cleaned because it didnt work for me.
