my daughter has a corsa,the other day her car radio/cd player switchs on and lights up but no sound from speakers, any ideas thanks

Check to make sure that all the plugs are still connected at the rear of the stero. Sometimes these can come apart with the vibrations and bumps on the roads. Also make sure that the mute button has not been pressed by mistake...
