2000 Vauxhall Corsa loss of power now won't start

I recently drove my car and experienced a loss of power as though the brakes were applied and a dragging sensation. i managed to get the car home but when i tried to switch on the engine again, it turns and splutters but won't start. does anyone have any ideas?

Did you get it fixed since? What was the issue? Same happened to my 04 corsa and don't know what to do with it.
