Been underneath car where the gearstick rod comes out of the car there is a ring on the end which fits over a ball joint,this has come apart but i cant seem to find any pictures on internet to see whats missing,any clues please.

If its the linkage on top of box which usually fails , it comes as a kit / assembly .
