2000 Vauxhall Corsa central locking not working

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 2000
Variant: 1.0 Manual
Categories: Leaks & Noises
The central locking system of my Corsa does not work any more. It did not respond to the keys (both keys) remotely. When I used the key to manually unlock the driver door, only the driver door unlocked, the passenger door and the boot door did not unlock. I tried to open the passenger door once I was inside the car but the passenger door did not open even when I pulled the door lever on the passenger side. I tried to lock and unlock the door using the lock lever inside the car but the passenger door lock still did not respond. I can open the boot using the key but cannot open the passenger door using the key as there is no key hole on the passenger door. Any help is appreciated.

Tested battery in remotes ? Checked fuses ? If all o.k , need to strip down door trims and check for power / broken wires / actuators / linkage . You wont be able to open door from inside if it's double locked .

The batteries in the keys are both new. I tried to check the fuse, however, the Manual does not mention a fuse for the central lock system. Do you know which fuse is for the central locking system?

Tried reprogramming remote ? Dont know if this refers to your car or not ,

Vauxhall Opel Car Key Reprogramming

Please note the following instructions are for re-synchronising remote keys. This allows keys originally supplied with the vehicle to be reprogrammed if they should go out of synchronisation with the car's code. Keys can go out of sychronisation if the battery has been changed or the button has been pressed numerous times out of range of the vehicle.

It will NOT reprogram the remote facility on a newly supplied key or second hand from another vehicle.

1. Sit in the car with doors closed. Place the key into the ignition and turn to Pos II (lights on)

2. Now press the lock button on the key remote with the key still in the ignition for about 2 secs

3. The central locking will now lock then unlock to show the remote control is now synchronized

Additions: Vauxhall Opel models include Agila Corsa Astra Meriva Zafira Insignia Antara Vectra Signum

Car Key Remotes are also referred to as Remote Plips or Remote Fobs.

I have already tried the procedure with the keys. I know how to do that because I did that successfully when I changed the batteries in the keys a few years ago. This is a different problem.

I got AA to come to have a look at it and they could not fix it either. The AA guy said the voltage level seemed a bit low. I have a water leak recently, the whole footwell is wet. I don't know if this has affect the electrical circuit.

Just an observation, there are four fuses which seem to relate to the central locking. Fuse nos 1, 11, 17, 22. Different things, different ratings. To the casual observer ( certainly on the pre facelift models) the fuses don't resemble the diagram on the fusebox lid. A matchbox sized black plastic cover hides the last couple of rows. Several times I've found fuse 17, a 20A which is under the above mentioned cover had blown, and was at fault. I'd suggest checking this first if your lights still flash when you press the key fob, but nothing else happens.
