2004 Vauxhall Corsa bad starting and engine management light on

recently my daughter has had trouble starting the engine and there is light on the dash like an engine with a spanner through it. the car usually starts first time, this is an intermittant problem.Can anybody steer me in the right directiion\/

Check plugs , coil pack and engine coolant temp sensor .

I.ve cleaned the air flow sensor and the spark plugs and the engine management light stays off and it starts ok but now the emmissions light comes on. what do I do now?

I have cleaned the maf sensor, cleaned the plugs which were sootyand replaced the air filter. the engine management light now goes out but the 02 emmission light still stays on. I intend to replace the pollen filter next because it came with the air filter. will replacing the 02 sensor cure this problem or should I just put the car out of its misery?

Hi I hope some on could help me I have just bought this car and when I drive it after a bit of driving the engine light on the dash comes on but then it will go off but yesterday I was on the motorway and it came on but then went off when I indicated but then came back on and then it went off and now the stereo went off with it hope someone could shine the light in this for me thanks and would it be safe to drive with the light on?? Thanks jade.
