1997 Vauxhall Corsa knocking from rear of car

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 1997
Variant: Vegas 1.2i
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Ever since i bought this acr, there has been a knocking sound when ever I go over Speed Humps or hills with sharp peaks. The noise sounds like the exhaust scrapping the floor for less than a second. I have looked under the car and can not see anything obvious to cause this noise. There is very little marks to any of the exaust system so am left to assume this is not the root cause.

Has anyone else had this and if so what was the cause?

Thanks

Check rear susp bushes , s/absorbers for wear and coil springs for any broken coils .

Going to take to Garage for this as not exactly clued up on suspension however both me and my partner were bouncing on the rear bumper and not a single sound to indicate it is a suspension problem. Looked right under car and nothing is even slightly close to floor but the noise has started getting worse and sometimes making it when simply driving or pulling away.

Got me really worried about driving the car as I have a 400 mile round trip to do soon.

It has also got louder, it is quite literally like metal hitting the floor so am completly stumped :S
