Wont start after running for a short time

1999 Vauxhall Corsa 976cc
Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year: 1999
Variant: 976cc
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
this is a basic Corsa I think its 976cc
it starts first time when cold but if I run it for a few mins and then turn it off it wont start it sounds like there are no sparks
I have changed the coil pack and it still does the same
I then pull the plugs to check then and the are dry and spark
but it smells flooded
an ideas ?
cheers

Check Crankshaft Sensor .
Answered Sep 11, 2011 (12 years ago)
the car is either over fueling or not sparking in the same cylinder and the spark plugs ar firing.the could be caused by a faulty crank position sensor or cam position sensor. also this fault could be caused by coolant temperature sensor fault which causes fuel problems in vauxhalls. if there is to much fuel going into a cylinder it can cause the spark plug not to fire as it has been flooded. it might start better the 1st time because the spark plugs will be dry.
