2003 Vauxhall Corsa dash board lights don't go bright at night

Hi,
Got a corsa for my partner. When I put the lights on when it is dark, the dash board lights are meant to light up and the dash radio section aswell. This does not happen however when the lights are off the dash radio part lights up then so I know it's a not a problem with the bulbs behind that.
As any one seen such a problem? Before I check fuses and relays etc.

Is there not a dimmer switch for dashboard lights on that model and it needs turned up ?

Ahh, your totally right! Thank you! :) I thought that was the wheel for the levels but when I just looked there was a picture of a speed clock, what a noob I am. Thanks again.
