2005 Vauxhall Combo engine management light not comming on when key is inserted in to ignition to start van

just had engine replaced they have used my inlet manifold with ecu and now they can't get it to start as ecu light and exhaust light will not come on as they do when you turn key in the ingnition, the van was driven to the garage and all worked then the engine was being replaced as the old one had a bent conrod. any ideas what could have been done wrong

Have you tried using a different key? maybe something to do with the chip inside the key???
worth trying anyway and just a thought.
