2000 Vauxhall Combo power dies

Year: 2000
Variant: 1.7 diesel

whilst driving the battery light starts to flicker after a while a few lights show up dim then the dash freezes i.e if im driving at 40 the speedo will stay there when i stop then after a while all power goes and the van is completely dead and will only start with a jump. ive had the alternator replaced and the battery checked but the problem still comes back? if anyone can help it would be most appreciated cheers darren

usually when the battery light comes on that means that the battery is not getting the charge from the alternator hence faulty alternator have it checked by either a garage or a motor factors they can do a battery and alternator check and make sure both are operating correctly you should be looking around 14.4 volts output from the alternator

I have recently had starting problems/discharged battery so replaced battery as it was not keeping charge and when I connected new (good) battery the battery light on the dash came on and stayed on and van will not start Any ideas?
